Can I visit Mayhap Studio?

Our doors are always open. At least whenever we're in the studio and it's not too cold. So if you're in the neighbourhood, feel free to try your luck and drop by for a cup of tea. Otherwise, give us a heads up and we can arrange a date.

I don't have any experience in pottery - can I still attend your classes?

Absolutely! All our classes and workshops are aimed at people who'd love to give pottery a go and get their hands dirty. If not now, then when?

How sustainable are you?

Limiting our environmental impact is something that we are incredibly passionate about; we are always seeking ways to improve our practices. Our packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible, we recycle and reuse our clay and water and our energy is 100% green.

Do you offer wholesale?

Yes, sure! Please get in touch with us for details on minimum order quantities, a price list and any other questions.

Do I need to bring anything to my class?

No, we provide you with an apron and all the tools you need. We recommend you wear something you don't mind getting dirty. Also, long fingernails and rings don't go very well with clay. It'll get messy!

ARE YOUR GLAZES FOOD, MICROWAVE, DISHWASHER SAFE?

They are food safe and dishwasher safe. Haven't tested on a microwave but I think they would be fine, putting them on the oven is not recommended. They can break due to thermal shock.

IS THERE ANY SPECIAL CARE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PIECES I JUST BOUGHT?

All pieces are dishwasher safe but hand wash is recommended to avoid any chipping. Please keep in mind a lot of my work intentionally leaves a large portion of the outer surfaces unglazed, this means those areas will be more prone to stain with time, become smoother and change gradually; evidencing the history of use through this patina created by each user with years of use. Giving them a wash in a dishwasher every now and then will help keep them free of any stains.

Matt glazes, when compared with gloss ones, will be more likely to develop cutlery marks or get stains from food such as beetroot and tea. To avoid this do not leave this type of leftover food sitting on the plate for a long time after eating.
